I’m gonna answer that..it’s the business setup.
When you want to build your first startup, you’ve already passed the phases connected to ideation, market research, customer profiling, and everything else. You know?
And, right when you’re ready to roll, I mean your product is ready to distribute, now you just fall into an ocean..an ocean full of absolute dilemma.
The right eCommerce platform, payment method, and smooth customer experience. I mean, you don’t even know where to get started.
That’s where Licenzo comes with all of its capacity to save you from drowning in with another to-be-successful business.
Our story
At this point, allow me to share our story, then you can grasp all our nerves and feel our thoughts.
On a warm night, when we’re chilling, we got an idea – an idea that is small enough to implement with our tiny schedules.
We went to build the product and successfully did. YAY!!
It’s time to distribute the product to our customers. But the question arises, “How?”
We want to sell licenses as well as subscriptions for that product.
So, the system should be:
- Secure
- Customer-friendly
- Easy to handle
- Scalable
- And, affordable, obviously, since we’re starting small
After a handful of research (including ChatGPT’s deep research), we got a lot of solutions, not to mention, only to make us more confused, rather than getting a concrete solution.
What’s wrong with the existing solutions?
Well, we’ve got plenty of solutions. WordPress plugins, SaaS solutions, free options, premium options, solution for this, solution for that, but not the one that we’re looking for.
There are free WordPress plugins with WooCommerce support. Although those plugins have a good, mentionable number of active installations, we find them less valuable.
We also got some commerce plugins with both free and premium options. But those are overkill for us in both terms: size and price.
Yes, those plugins are great, but for medium to large businesses. We even dream ourselves to use 70% of their features within the next 1-2 years.
Why waste some money and make our website heavy?
The SaaS solutions are also great, but they’re pricey. They’re not worth our businesses.
And on top of all, they’re not WordPress. It’s not a problem if they’re not WP, but you know, since we want to distribute WordPress solutions, it doesn’t feel right to host from the outside.
One. Two. Eureka: We’ve Built Our Own Solution
For eCommerce businesses, it’s easy to choose one of those popular platforms and roll.
But we think of people like us. Travelers, solopreneurs, theme and plugin sellers, service providers.
We want to start small, but start right.
To achieve that, we made our hands dirty and built the tool that will help us reach our customers.

Philosophy
Since we’re building for WordPress, our philosophy is similar to the ones WordPress has.
Our solutions should be Out of the Box. We know people have specific problems, but the existing solutions couldn’t satisfy them.
So we needed to come up with something that’s unique and better and smoother.
We also believe the solution should be easy to use. As the philosophy of WordPress written:
Great software should work with little configuration and setup. WordPress is designed to get you up and running and fully functional in no longer than five minutes. You shouldn’t have to battle to use the standard functionality of WordPress.
Like WordPress, we also believe the code should be Clean, lean, and mean. The world is going fast; your site should load faster.
